Supplement labels follow different rules from drug labels. Understanding the difference helps you see what is—and isn't—being promised.
Proprietary blends
A “proprietary blend” lists ingredients without the amount of each. You cannot tell whether an ingredient is present at a meaningful level.
“Clinically studied”
This often means an ingredient has been studied somewhere, not that the product itself has been tested, or that the study showed benefit.
Structure/function claims
Phrases like “supports male vitality” are permitted without FDA approval, and must be accompanied by a disclaimer that FDA has not evaluated the claim.
