Hidden Sildenafil in Male-Enhancement Supplements

FDA's tainted-product notices have, over many years, listed hundreds of sexual-enhancement products found to contain undeclared sildenafil, tadalafil or chemically similar analogues.

Why it's dangerous

Someone taking nitrates for chest pain may choose a “natural” product precisely because they were told not to take ED drugs. A hidden PDE5 inhibitor can then cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Doses in tested samples have varied widely and sometimes exceeded prescription strength.

Documented vs. suspected

We report contamination as documented only when a regulator or reliable lab has found it. A product feeling “too strong” is a reason for suspicion, not proof.
